It’s Official: Nick Cave Is Bad At Sex

The Australian legend gets the dubious pleasure of being nominated for the ‘Bad Sex In Fiction Award’.
Nick Cave has been nominated for the Literary Reviews’ 2009 Bad Sex In Fiction award. The annual award was set up by Auberon Waugh to highlight “crude, tasteless, often perfunctory use of redundant passages of sexual description in the modern novel, and to discourage it”.
The nomination is for the singer’s second book, 'The Death of Bunny Munro'. Other nominees include Booker winner John Banville, Pulitzer prize winner Philip Roth and Whitbread winner Paul Theroux.
Anna Frame, Nick Cave’s representative at the Canongate publishing house, said “Frankly, we would have been offended if he wasn’t shortlisted”.
