Ian Brown: "Stellify Was Originally Written For Rihanna"

King Monkey reveals the story behind his latest hit...
Ian Brown has revealed that his latest single 'Stellify' was originall intended for R'n'B diva Rihanna. The track, which is one of the highlights from the new album 'My Way', was co-written with long-term collaborator Dave McCracken, who has just been signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation company.
"I co-wrote 'F.E.A.R.' with Dave and he's had a hand in all my albums in some way," Brown told Xfm's Pete Mitchaell. "He got asked to write a song for Rihanna, so he wrote 'Stellify'. At teatime, he thought she's gonna kill this song. Next morning, he thought I need a tune for myself, I'll keep it. Six piano notes repeating, how did we get away with it?"
