Guns N’ Roses To Tour This Year
Axl Rose and co. look set to hit stadiums this summer as Chinese Democracy finally turns platinum in the US.
Guns N’ Roses manager Irving Azoff has dropped the strongest hint yet that the band will tour this year. Persistent rumours from insiders had mooted a stadium jaunt, but the band and management had remained silent until now.
“Axl has been basically quiet, keeping out of the limelight for almost 15 years. People think they know him but they only really only know what has been said about him by questionable people”, said irving Azoff to Rolling Stone magazine.
“He is a good guy and often misunderstood — he is a professional who has worked very hard to build and maintain a high creative standard for Guns n’ Roses, which I support. We have some exciting things in the works this year for Gn’R, I’m looking forward to it.”
The news comes a few weeks after 'Chinese Democracy' was certified platinum in the US (1 million sales). Relatively slow sales of the album had been blamed on Rose’s reluctance to promote it in any way.
