Friendly Fires To Release New Single

But the next album won't be as samba-tinged as this one...
Friendly Fires have announced plans to release a stand-alone single as part of a reissue of the band's self-titled debut album. 'Kiss Of Life' is the first taste of the much-mooted "samba direction" which the band have been threatening to go in... although singer Ed Macfarlane stresses that we shouldn't expect the whole of the next album to sound like that.
"We started writing ['Kiss Of Life'] in January and we finished it about a month ago," Ed told Xfm's Jon Hillcock. "We've had so little time to get in the studio, so it took loads of different forms. It started out as this kind of funk, punk tune and now it's samba. I don't think we're going to do a samba-influenced album because that might be a little bit annoying, but we wanted to do something that was a progression from 'Jump In The Pool'."
"We're off to Brazil soon, so we get to play 'Kiss Of Life there, which should be interesting..."
