Depeche Mode Man Has Surgery For Cancer

The band cancel more shows as Dave Gahan is ordered to rest...
Depeche Mode have cancelled tomorrow's London O2 show (May 30) after Dave Gahan was hospitalised and underwent surgery to remove a cancerous tumour. The singer was taken ill on May 12, just before a date in Athens, Greece and the verdict was severe gastroenteritis.
However, according to a statement on the band's official website www.depechemode.com, !While in hospital, further medical tests revealed a low-grade malignant tumour in Dave's bladder, which has since been successfully removed."
With Gahan under doctor's orders, the Mode will not be back in action until JUne 8, when the Tour Of The Universe will resume in Leipzig, Germany.
Full details of the cancellations and rescheduled shows are at www.depechemode.com.
