Dave Grohl, Eddie Vedder And More For Nick Drake Tribute Album

Plus, the late Heath Ledger's tribute to the singer will make its first appearance...
A new Nick Drake tribute album and DVD is to be released next year. The album will feature cover versions of the late singer's tracks from the likes of Jack Penate, Dave Grohl and Eddie Vedder. The accompanying DVD will include a video shot by the late actor Heath Ledger for the track 'Black Eyed Dog' - which is, ironically, a song about the spectre of depression. Ledger died a year ago this month from an overdose of prescription drugs and was said to be obssessed with Drake's life and work.
Drake died in November 1974 aged 26, following a similar overdose of antidepressants. His career only spanned five years and three albums - 'Five Leaves Left' (1969), 'Bryter Layter'(1970) and 'Pink Moon' (1972), but a resurgence of interest in his work followed in the 1980s.
