Boy George Jailed For 15 Months

The former Culture Club singer has been sent down for "imprisoning a male escort".
Boy George has been sent to prison for 15 months after being found guilty of falsely imprisoning a male escort. The 47-year-old former Culture Club frontman had denied the charge, but was convicted last month of holding one Audun Carlsen in his Shoreditch flat. George claimed that Carlsen had stolen photos from his laptop and was only handcuffing the victim to a wall until he reclaimed his property.
During the sentencing at Snaresbrook Crown Court, Judge David Ratford claimed that the New Romantic icon's "premeditated callous and humiliating handcuffing and detention of Mr Carlsen shocked, degraded and traumatised him."
It's the latest in a long line of legal issues for the erstwhile George O'Dowd - in 2006, he had to perform community service in New York after wasting police time, and the '80s saw him come into contact with the rozzers during his well-publicised drug useage.
