Blur To Record New Material?

Graham Coxon has hinted that the band may begin recording a new album. ‘I’m up for it’, says the guitarist.

Graham Coxon has told The Star that he is keen to begin work on a new Blur record. The album would be the first new material for the band since 2003’s ‘Think Tank’, which lead to the bespectacled six-stringer’s departure.
Coxon told the paper:

“I'd be up for it if everyone else is really into the idea… If it feels good then we will record again. I'm sure we will.”

It’s unlikely the Britpop heroes will reconvene in a studio any time soon, however. As previously reported, the band are due to play two massive shows in London’s Hyde Park (July 2, 3), a gig at the Manchester Evening News Arena (June 26) and a string of warm-up shows (June 21-25).

On the time-scale for recording, the guitarist said:

“We've got some stuff going on so it won't be in the immediate future”, said the guitarist.
