Matt Tong lets slip that the band are Pilton-bound this summer. They’ll also be taking a break after their long BlOCtober tour.

Bloc Party have let slip they will be playing Glastonbury this summer. The news came during an interview with Phil Clifton ahead of the band’s live set at Xfm. The awkward revelation came as Kele Okereke was trying desperately to tread carefully.

"I don’t know what’s been announced, so it’s difficult to talk about it, but I think Reading has been announced," said Kele.

“And Glastonbury?”, added Matt Tong.

“No, I don’t think that’s been announced yet, Matt”, countered the singer.

Doh. So the band, will be playing Glastonbury and Reading before heading out on a full UK tour throughout October, dubbed – wait for it – ‘Bloctober’. The tour is likely to be the band’s final activity for quite some time, according to Kele.

“I think we’re going to take a bit of a break after this record and then we’ll get together soon”
