Birthday Party Guitarist Passes Away

Rowland S Howard, the legendary former guitarist with Australian post-punk pioneers The Birthday Party, has died aged 50.
Rowland S Howard has died aged 50 while waiting for a liver transport. The legendary guitarist from Melbourne made his name with post punk legends The Birthday Party, which was fronted by Nick Cave.
The guitarist had been struggling with ill-health for years and recently told Rolling Stone magazine that he’d been given a couple of years to live by his doctor.
Howard released his second solo album, ‘Pop Crimes’, in October to much critical acclaim.
