Asteroids Galaxy Tour Weren’t Allowed To Meet Amy

The Danish alt.pop troupe tell Xfm’s Steve Harris about their first ever gig supporting Amy Winehouse…
The Asteroids Galaxy Tour’s Lars Iversen spoke exclusively to Steve from his parent’s summer house in Denmark - albeit in freezing cold weather – and admitted the band rehearsed only twice before they got the call to support Miss Winehouse.
“We had a request from Amy Winehouse’s management to support her in Copenhagen. Everything has exploded since then. That was our first gig, we only rehearsed two times before it. We were a very new band, we only had six songs.”
However, Iversen revealed “strict rules” and “bodyguards” prevented the band from meeting the Southgate songster.
“We didn’t meet her in person, there were strict rules and bodygurads everywhere. Obviously she was really, really drunk.”
The band’s debut album is released in March, though an EP, ‘Around The Bend’, is out now.
The Asteroids Galaxy Tour also came in to lay down four acoustic songs for Steve Harris recently, of which you can listen to right here.
