Xfm Celebrates Independents' Day

To celebrate the Association Of Independent Music's Independents' Day on July 4, Xfm will be broadcasting a number of exclusive documentaries on the indie labels that pioneered the sector. Not only will you get their stories, there's tons of great music too.
Broadcast each evening in the first hour of John Kennedy's Xposure show (10pm - 1am), Xfm's exclusive Independents' Day documentaries will give listeners an insight into how independent music has become the force that it is today.
Speaking with many of the people who helped pioneer the ethos of independent music, the four documentaries focus on the stories of Mute Records, Domino Records, Rough Trade and Creation Records and include new and never-heard-before interviews with Arctic Monkeys, Primal Scream, Nick Cave, Carl Barat, The Kills, Franz Ferdinand, The Strokes, The Charlatans and many more.
The Story Of Mute Records was broadcast on John's show last night (June 30) while tonight's (July 1) edition will feature The Story Of Domino Records. The Story Of Rough Trade and The Story Of Creation Records will follow on Wednesday (2) and Thursday (3) respectively.
Don't worry if you miss any - all the shows will be available for streaming. Details to follow soon.
Tune in to Xposure tonight from 10pm on 104.9 (London), 97.7 (Manchester) and 105.7 - 106.1 (Scotland).
