White Lies: "Winter Wonderland Will Be Our Biggest Gig"

The west London indie outfit declare their excitement at playing Xfm's forthcoming Xmas spectacle in an exclusive chat. But don't expect fairy lights and Santa costumes...
Speaking at the launch of this year's Mencap Little Noise Sessions which also featured Glasvegas and Cage The Elephant, White Lies singer Harry McVeigh revealed the band's slot at Xfm's Winter Wonderland 2008 will be their biggest gig to date.
He said: "We're really looking forward to it. We can't wait to play Brixton for the first time, (it's a) legendary venue, and the biggest venue to this date that we'll have played. We'll stick to the all black I think."
The band were appearing at the first of this year's Little Noise Sessions at Islington's Union Chapel on Saturday (November 8). The surprise guests of the night were The Killers, and profits from the shows are going to support people with learning difficulties. The season continues tonight (November 10) with Stereophonics, followed by Biffy Clyro and Friendly Fires (12), Kasabian and Reverend And The Makers (14), Keane (15) and The Fratellis, Noah And The Whale and Ladyhawke (18). For more on the shows, see www.mencapmusic.org.uk.
The hotly tipped trio, who also play a string of dates with Glasvegas later this year, added they can't wait to see their debut album, 'To Lose My Life', in the shops when it's released on January 12.
"The album was finished in July, so we've had it under our belts for a long time. We're just keen to get it out there. We love it and it's our proudest moment. It's really exciting."
