U2 Open Archives For Remasters

added 05 June 2008 at 10.27

Supergroup U2 are set to to release a host of unreleased material when their first three albums - that's 'Boy', 'October' and 'War' - are given the remasters treatment. The new material will appear on the deluxe editions.

The previously unheard tracks 'Speed Of Life', 'Saturday Night', 'Cartoon World' and a remixed version of early live favourite 'I Will Follow' are set to feature on the remastered version of the band's debut, 'Boy'.

The album is also expected to contain live takes of 'Boy-Girl' and '11 O'Clock Tick Tock' from 1980 Marquee gig in London.

The follow-up, 1981's 'October', will come with live material recorded at the Hammersmith Palais and the Boston Paradise Theatre as well as a live BBC session.

The band's third album - and first long-playing chart-topper - 'War' will be augmented by new song 'Angels Too Tied To The Ground' and remixed versions of 'New Year's Day' and 'Two Hearts Beat As One'.

The remasters will be released on July 22. U2 continue to work on their new and as-yet-untitled album.
