Jules and Katie bag the Xfm Award for Live Breakthrough Act, while Kate Nash, Kings Of Leon and Primal Scream also get gongs.

The Vodafone Live Music Awards 2008 came to town last night and Xfm was there to sponsor one of the most important categories. In a hotly-contested battle, The Ting Tings walked away with the Xfm Live Breakthrough Award, presented to the band that had made the biggest steps in the world of gigs this year.

Also received mantlepiece-adornments last night were Primal Scream, who bagged two "Vodas" for Best Live Act and Outstanding Contribution To Live Music (no doubt due to their sterling performance at June's All Day Breakfast shows, yes?) and Kings Of Leon, who were crowned Best International Act.

The full list of winners is:

Best Live Act - Primal Scream
Best Male - Mark Ronson
Best Female - Kate Nash
Best Live Return - Spice Girls
Best International Act - Kings Of Leon
Outstanding Contribution To Live Music - Primal Scream
Xfm Live Breakthrough Act - The Ting Tings
4 Music Festival Of The Year - T In The Park
Live & Unsigned Act - Kiddo360
Sony Ericsson Tour Of The Year - Take That

Stay tuned to Xfm for more reports from last night's show.
