In a hotly debated contest involving blood, sweat and raised voices, The Enemy have emerged as the winners of the inaugural Xfm New Music Awards.

The Enemy beat off stiff competition from some of the best new talent to have emerged in the last 12 months to stand victorious as purveyors of the Best British Debut Album Of 2007 with 'We'll Live And Die In These Towns'.

  2. Personally I love The Enemy's album, it was always my favourite to win. But I would have been equally happy to see the brilliant Fractured Life scoop the prize.

2008 winners? Look out for White Sunday!

  3. The Enemy's album is crap.

'We'll Live and Die in These Towns'... how working class can *you* get. No one will do it better than Pulp and Arctic Monkeys. theamatically it's a weak album that's been done time and time again.

It's especially worst when they make alot of derogatory remarks in their music about women and such. Lyrically - it's an offensive album just offering not much more than annoying anecdotes.

Drums, Bass, Guitar, annoying male vocalist. Generic ingredients, wouldn't you agree? Musically, it's a weak, boring album which offers nothing more than most albums out there.

How anyone could dare call it atleast a decent album I shall never know...

Especially when bands like Air Traffic were on the list... shame.

  4. Air Traffic's album is amazing. Should have won easily. But they seem to keep a lower profile than some of the others nominated. They will be the biggest band out of the bands nominated. Good list though.

  5. I don't think the Enemy deserved it, there were some way better albums in the ten nominees.
I was routing for Air Traffic to win, definately the best new album of last year, I haven't stopped listening to it since it came out back in july.
I was happy to hear some booing in the crowd when they announced the Enemy as the winners!
