The Charlatans And Xfm Listeners Make History

How much are you lot loving The Charlatans' new album, 'You Cross My Path'? Absloutely ruddy loads of you it would seem - since Monday well over 30,000 of you have downloaded it.
In the real world, that kind of unit-shifting power would have secured The Charlatans a Number Two slot in the national charts. And not only that but a further 10,000 individual tracks have been downloaded since the beginning of the week.
A delighted Tim Burgess told Xfm: "I'm absolutely over the moon to think how many people will have heard our music now - it's just amazing! We never dreamt that it would do so well! I think it proves how successful downloading music can be."
The Charlatans manager, erstwhile Xfm DJ Alan McGee, enthused: "What The Charlatans have done now is culturally important."
