Snow Patrol Beaten By Pink To Reach No. 1

Xfm's current Residency DJs have been pipped by the US songster to hit the Number 1 spot in this week's album chart...

Snow Patrol's fifth studio album, 'A Hundred Million Suns', sold a reported 100,330 copies, though failed to reach the top spot due to the latest release form Pink, while Bloc Party's 'Intimacy' went in at No. 8.

Singer Gary Lightbody and lead guitarist Nathan Connolly are currently Xfm's choice of DJ's for The Residency, picking their favourite tunes every Sunday night for the next three weeks.

Their first venture into the studio occured last night, where they spun hip Seattle five-piece Fleet Foxes and Stevie Wonder's cover of The Beatles classic, 'We Can Work It Out'.
