Scouting For Girls Play Career-Defining Winter Wonderland Show

Last night’s Xfm Manchester Winter Wonderland headliners tell it was a pleasure to play for the station that supported them all those years ago…
Headlining Xfm’s Winter Wonderland last night (December 8) at Manchester Academy, Scouting For Girls singer Roy Stride admitted to Xfm it was a “great pleasure” but also “weird” to play at a show he and the band went to as kids.
He said: “Xfm has always supported us. We were played on Xfm before we had a record deal or a manager, John Kennedy was playing our records. When we were kids we went to Winter Wonderland in London, so it’s a bit weird to play tonight. It was a great pleasure.”
The London trio also revealed their plans for 2009, revealing they can’t wait to record the follow up to their self-titled debut album.
“We’re looking forward to doing a new record, getting back in the studio and recording some more songs. We spent 10 years trying to do this, and there’s nothing about it that I don’t like.”
