Scott Weiland Jailed

Things just aren't looking up for Scott Weiland. Having been booted out of Velvet Revolver, Stone Temple Pilots' reunion is thrown into disarray as the singer is handed a jail sentence for driving under the influence.

Weiland faces eight days in jail after his lawyer yesterday (April 28) entered a plea of no contest to a single charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Weiland was arrested on a ramp to a Los Angeles freeway in November of last year.

As well as the sentence, Weiland has been placed under four years unsupervised probation which involves entering an 18-month alcohol programme.

His jail term is set to begin on May 28, eleven days after the start of the Stone Temple Pilots 65-date reunion tour. The tour will be Weiland's first professional engagement since his acrimonious parting with supergroup Velvet Revolver earlier this month.
