Robert Plant Awarded CBE

Led Zeppelin man is given the gong in the New Year's Honours List...
Former Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant is to be made a CBE as part of The Queen's New Year's Honours List. The 60-year-old singer, whose on-off commitment to the Led Zep reunion has been one of 2008's most enduring stories, will become a Commander Of The British Empire following a visit to Buckingham Palace in the New Year. It caps a great 2008 for Plant, which has also include a Mercury Music Prize nomination for his album with Alison Krauss, 'Raising Sand'.
Also honoured in the list are fantasy author Terry Pratchett (who gets a knighthood for services to literature), jazz musician Courtney Pine, actor Michael "Tony Blair" Sheen and actress Liz "Nana Royle" Smith.
