Following last weeks' news that Razorlight are set to peform at a climate change concert comes news that things are starting to get mighty political...
Razorlight's front man Johnny Borrell has found a bizzarre 'support group' for the one-off gig he plans to play for The Big Ask - Friends Of The Earth's climate campaign - on June 3.
Five professional politicians are gonna be 'rocking out' with Borrell at the protest gig including Lembit Opik (Lib Den MP and Cheeky Girl plaything), Anne Milton (Conservative), Emily Thornberry (Labour), Ian Cawsey (Labour) and erstwhile Runrig band member Peter Wishart (SNP).
The unlikely quintet are calling themselves 'The Aviators' - to highlight the argument that aviation emissions shouldn't be left out of the new climate change law 'The Climate Change Bill'.
Good causes aside, Xfm can't wait to see this fiasco of a group getting "down with the kids". Lets hope their efforts down come "crash-landing" down. Yes OK, we need our punning wheels changed.
The gig is taking place at the Aviation Room of London's Science Museum.
Elsewhere, Razorlight tubthumper Andy Burrows announced details of a very special gig at the Union Chapel in Islington tomorrow (Wednesday May 28) in aid of Naomi House Children's Hospice where he'll be joined by some very special guests.
Andy Burrows' solo album, 'The Colour Of My Dreams', is out next week (May 26) on Vertigo.
