Radiohead And Coldplay Get Vinyl Re-release

Some of Radiohead and Coldplay’s best loved albums will be released on vinyl for the first time in years on August 19. Is it a treat for fans? A record company cash-in? The jury's out...
The series, dubbed ‘From The Capitol Vaults' sees Coldplay’s ‘Parachutes’ and ‘A Rush Of Blood To The Head’, along with Radiohead’s ‘Ok Computer’, ‘Kid A’, ‘Amnesiac’ and ‘Hail To The Thief’, emerge re-mastered and on limited edition vinyl. Each record will come packaged in its original artwork, in either single or gatefold versions.
The releases come hot on the heels of the staggering commercial success of Coldplay's recent album, 'Viva La Vida', and Radiohead's UK tour. A Radiohead greatest hits compilation also emerged on the label recently, despite the band having left EMI and its related subsidiaries.
So what do you think? Is this a chance to get your hands on long since deleted releases? Or is it a cynical label cash-in? Drop us your thoughts here...

It's a cash-in, but a smart one.. fans will be all over these.
"Pablo Honey" and "The Bends" are being re-released by EMI on 9/2/08 as well as Coldplay's "X&Y" on the 9/2/08 as well. -
obviously a cynical label cash in. Thats what EMI is all about. Making money off of Radiohead any way they can (Best of, Complete Set, DVDs, blah blah blah). Nevertheless I wouldnt mind having OK Computer, and Kid A on vinyl. But what happened to The Bends (thats way better than Hail to The Thief)???
