This week sees the release of The Cure's 13th studio album, the aptly-titled '4:13 Dream'. Over the course of a 30-year career, Robert Smith has guided his band from a scratchy young post-punk outfit to some of the doomiest records of the 80s. Smith then reinvented himself with some of the quirkiest pop songs of the decade such as 'The Love Cats' and 'Lullaby', winding up with The Cure being hailed as the elder statesmen of alternative rock .
