Pearl And Metallica For Bonnaroo 2008

added 06 February 2008 at 14.13

Those Led Zeppelin rumours have been comprehensively shot down in flames as Pearl Jam and Metallica are confirmed to bring the rock to the Bonnaroo Music And Arts Festival.

Scheduled for June 12-15 in Manchester, Tennessee the festival will also feature performances from M.I.A., My Morning Jacket, Rilo Kiley, Death Cab For Cutie and The Raconteurs.

Despite supposedly strong rumours to contrary, the highly speculated Led Zeppelin appearance has failed to materialise but fans of the band can take comfort that Robert Plant will play with current partner Alison Krauss. As are the all-female tribute band, Lez Zeppelin who will doubtlessly make you sweat and make you groove. So it's not all bad news, then.

Tickets go on sale at the festival's site on February 16 at 12.00 EST. That's 5pm for those of us on this side of the pond. And let's face it, with England out of the footy this year, who wants to hang around here?

  1. being a bonnaroo vet, I wouldn't give up on those Zep rumors just yet... organizers tend to pull out the big gun announcements about a month before event (last year it was Police, year before Tom Petty).... not to mention Robert Plant already scheduled, John Paul Jones was sitting in with just about everyone last year at Bonnaroo.... one never knows, except maybe a psychic in New Orleans

One thing's for sure, those superfly guys are truly super fly!!
