Oasis And Russell Brand Sitcom For Comic Relief?

added 07 October 2008 at 10.23

Noel Gallagher has distanced himself from claims he’s writing a sitcom with Russell Brand after Comic Relief went ‘bananas’ for the idea.

Noel Gallagher has told Xfm that claims he’s writing a sitcom with Russell Brand have been exaggerated. Recent rumours suggested that the comedian and Oasis guitarist were collaborating on scripts after Gallagher Sr became a permanent fixture on Brand’s radio show.

In an interview with Xfm's Dave Berry last week, however, Gallagher said the remark was flippantly tossed away in an interview.

“A journalist asked me what I’d do if Oasis finished”, said the guitarist. “I was out with Russell Brand the previous night, so I just said I’d be in a team of scriptwriters with Russell”.

“I was on his radio show on Saturday, we were chatting away about it and we flippantly said it would be a great idea to do for Comic Relief. Now, all of a sudden Comic Relief have gone bananas.  I’m like, ‘Wow, hang on a minute!’.”

Noel And Gem return to talk with John Kennedy about the recording of Dig Out Your Soul tonight from 10pm.
