New Travis Album On the Way

‘120 Latin Piece Choir’ among the boxes ticked on new record by Fran Healy and co. 'There's no fat on it either', claims the tuneful troubadour.

Fran Healy’s been telling Steve Harris and Music:Response what to expect from the new Travis album, ‘Ode To J. Smith’.

“It’s really, really tight, rocky record”, said Fran. “There are some pretty decent singles going on there and some interesting album tracks. There’s no fat on it that’s for sure”.

Asked whether there was still a fresh challenge in producing new albums, Fran replied that there were plenty of areas still to explore.

“We definitely had to tick the '120 piece latin choir' box, we had to tick ‘song from a woman’s point of view’ box. You can come up with boxes if you run out of them!”
