New Strokes Album Next Year?

Albert Hammond Jr hints that the band will be back in 2009. Plus, download his new single for free!

Albert Hammond Jr has revealed that The Strokes may be back next year – or else that could be it for the group. "If we don't make a Strokes record before the end of 2009, people will think that's the end of us,” he told teletext magazine Planet Sound. “Nothing's set, but we're definitely figuring out something to do for 2009."

Hammond has been busy since the last Strokes album ‘First Impressions Of Earth’ arrived two years ago, releasing his latest solo outing ¿Cómo Te Llama? on Rough Trade this week.

And in an act of pure generosity, those fine people at Rough Trade have given us a free track for you to download! ‘GfC’ is currently doing the rounds of the Xfm playlist and is released as a very nice clear vinyl 7” next week (July 14), but you can wrap your ears around it right here. Click on the link below to do the business.
