New Brit Category Added To MTV Awards

Coldplay and Ting Tings in the running for gong.

A new British category's been added to the MTV Video Music Awards in the States next month...Both Coldplay and The Ting Tings have both been nominated for the Best UK Video award at the ceremony, which takes place in LA next month.

 

In keeping with the Britcentric feel of the event, this year’s host is none other than Russell Brand, who’s currently pitching movie scripts in Hollywood. "I am proud to be hosting the MTV VMAs," Brand told reporters when the booking was announced. "I'm going to celebrate by doing lesbian kisses with both Britney and Madonna, and I'll be giving Michael Jackson a special award to celebrate his birthday — which, coincidentally, is also a lesbian kiss."
