New Breeders Material On The Way

Kim and Kelley Deal promise that new album won’t be too far away. They've also never fought, but they think it's really cool anyway...

Kim and Kelly Deal, in a typically bizarre and funny interview, told John Kennedy that new material by The Breeders is on its way. The Deal twins revealed that they had been visiting The Fortress recording studios in London on their days off to record new songs.

“We had three weeks off in between our US and UK tours”, said Kelley. “[Kim] wrote three new songs during that period and they’re all great. I’m not sure what we’re going to do with them. We may do a single with a few b-sides… as there’s no record business any more, we thought we should make a 45 and sell them at shows”

On the subject of sibling rivalry, the pair admitted they barely fought despite having a bit of a spat at the hotel earlier in the day.

“We did get physical once, but we ended up laughing”, said Kim. “Unfortunately we’re not cool enough to break into sibling fights. I think it’s neat when sibling’s fight”.

When Xfm’s own John Kennedy admitted he’d been the target of a flying cereal bowl after being too chirpy before going to school, Kim hit back.

“I can’t imagine anyone accusing you of being chirpy!”

Charming. You can listen to the whole interview, in its wonderful bizarreness, right here.
