Moby Bribes Critics

added 05 February 2008 at 10.48

Vegan techno slaphead Moby is offering music journalists bribes in return for good reviews of his new album.

With a wry smile and doubtlessly arched eyebrow, Moby wrote on his website of his apprehension ahead of the release of his new album, 'Last Night'. He said:

"Sometimes journalists read my updates. If you're a journalist and you're thinking of either giving 'Last Night' a bad review or writing something nasty about me I'd be more than happy to send cash/drugs/hookers to you in the interest of receiving good press.

"I'm all for freedom of the press, but I'm not averse to some good old-fashioned fourth estate payola.

"I know that some members of the press find me distasteful. I understand, I'm opinionated and annoying. But don't you think you could shelve the bad review in the interest of free money or drugs?"

Oh, all right then, Moby - feel free to send your illicit wares along with the promo copy and we'll see what we can do. Let's just hope we're not too off our faces to get the review together...

'Last Night' will be released in March.
