Keane: ‘Christmas Party Was Payment In Kind’

Tom Chaplin thanks Xfm for their help by staging a massive performance in a tiny venue.
Hangovers aside, the dust has cleared on one of the greatest Christmas bashes we’ve ever had. Keane played to 800 people for an hour in a set that drew heavily on new album, ‘Perfect Symmetry’. Singer Tom Chaplin said that the gig was a “payment in kind” for Xfm’s years of support.
“Xfm have been great supporters of us. I remember long before we got a record deal we did a demo of a song called ‘Rubbernecking’ and it got played by Claire Sturgess’s show maybe seven years ago”.
The singer, interviewed with keyboardist Tim Rice-Oxley, also talked about their run-in with Kanye West in Paris and about the possibilities of recording next year.
