Keane - New Album Details Announced

The successor to 2006's Under The Iron Sea is almost finished. But how do you follow up a hugely successful album? 'Ignoring The Rules of Good Taste' it appears.

Keane are set to return to the stage, with the announcement today of the details for the follow up to 2006's 'Under The Iron Sea' and an intimate London show to boot.

Announcing the details through their website, the band said they'd spent the last few months lost in a world of new music, 'writing songs, pushing our limits, making fools of ourselves and generally having a wicked time'. A msytery countdown has also appeared on the site, set to countdown in three days time.

The band collaborated with a couple of big names to make the album, having different effects on the band's approach. Jon Brion (Aimee Mann/Magnolia OST) encouraged us to create first and think later'.

'Everything came together in an avalanche of experimentation that took us all by surprise; where we made a pact with [producer] Stuart Price (Madonna/The Killers) to ignore the rules of good taste'.

Recorded in parts in London, Berlin, Paris and currently being finished off in L.A., 'Perfect Symmetry' will be relased on October 13th.

The band will also be playing a one-off show at the Forum, Kentish Town, London on September 29th, where they will preview some of the new tracks ahead of the release. Tickets go on sale from September 1st.
