Exclusive: Kasabian To Return By Year's End?

Talking exclusively to Xfm, Kasabian's Tom Meighan has revealed that the band may be back in action sooner rather than later with a couple of new singles ahead of the release of the band's highly-anticipated third album.
Speaking of when Kasabian might be returning to action, frontman Tom Meighan revealed: "Hopefully by the end of the year and maybe we'll put a couple of singles out but it all depends on what the plans are."
Meighan is also of the opinion that fans should expect the band's best album yet. He said: "There's better songs on it than the last two records because we're always gonna try to improve on what we did on the last album."
Though refusing to commit himself to a release date, he confirmed that work on the new album was very nearly completed, saying: "We've got about two or three songs to finish off and we're mixing other songs off the album so it's going really well."
Fans should expect a thoroughly rejuvinated Kasabian as according to Meighan, the band took a well-earned rest after the promotional campaign for their last album, 2006's 'Empire'.
He said: "We'd done something like 400 gigs, man, so we'd just been travelling, travelling, travelling and playing and playing and playing so I think it's good that we've chilled out a bit and hidden ourselves in the woods."
