Jay-Z Intro Video Intensifies Oasis Beef

added 03 July 2008 at 14.31

The intro video to rapper Jay-z's Glasto appearance has surfaced on the internet and is set to intensify the beef between the rapper and Oasis man Noel Gallagher. Looks like this one's set to run for some time...

The introduction video to Jay-Z's Glastonbury headlining slot on the Pyramid Stage was originally played on the stage's huge video screens but failed to make the BBC's coverage of the slot.

Playfully provocative, it's chides Oasis lynchpin Noel Gallagher for suggesting that hip-hop has no place at the long-running festival.

Featuring clips of Hillary Clinton, Iain Paisley and Tony Blair as well as Noel and Liam Gallagher, the video has appeared all over the internet but you can see it below.

What do you think? Does Jay-Z have a point? Or is Noel Gallagher right? Let us know what you think below.

  1. NEW LATEST BREAKEST NEWS!!!!!!!!

Just when you thought Jay-z aint beefin no more Hov is at it again this time with Justin Timberlake.JT was performing with his old crew members N-Sync on stage as a RE-UNION TOUR then Jay-Z and the Roc-A-Fella group smash down the stage with bats then JT and N-Sync run of stage.People have said Jay-Z acted that way because he believes Justin Timberlake and Beyonce were having an undercover affair while making the song together "Until the End of Time".To watch the video of Jay-z trashing down Jusitn Timberlake on stage here is the link from Youtube>>>>>>>>>>>>>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJ2fJCA7eFU

  2. This video is lame, it doesn't make Noel look bad or Jay-Z look good. Everything is out of context. Yawn.

  3. Glasto is and has allways been a guitars fest. Jay Z is decent but there's a time and a place. Why is everyone saying he nailed it. The intro is quality but someone else obviously did it for him. The actual cover of wonderwall isnt even that great.

Oasis will never be past it!

  4. I say well done2jz as glasto is just another way to unite people in a fusion of all sorts of music, and noel mouthing off like that is what divides people. jzs response was articulate and clever.

  5. I wasn't there for Jay Z but I did see Oasis perform a piss-poor set in 2004, ruined by their own egos.

Noel - If you think you are bigger than the Greatest Festival in the World and can't rise above the chip on your shoulder to the honour of playing there, please don't criticise others for having a go.

I'm not a fan of rap but I would rather see Jay Z play there again than Noel Gallagher.

  6. Johan - "Trying to act diverse in this age of political correctness"? So Glastonbury should just run to its 'logical conclusion' in your eyes, and turn into the V Festival, right? You're basically telling Glasto to 'behave itself'. Maybe you'd like a bit less diversity, and they could put on Paulo Nutini and James Morrison instead, right? F**k that! I'd never go again if that happened. Glasto thrives on it's diversity. From Ethiopiques through Friendly Fires to Leonard Cohen, which festival in the world dare take such chances year on year, and continuously come up trumps?....

I think after about 3 songs into his set, it was widely regarded as a monstorous success. The reason Jay-Z didn't bring out any special guests? He didn't need to. Completely nailed it! I've been a huge Oasis fan since '94, bt even I found the intro hilarious. And if Gallagher Snr. has a sense of humour - which he has - he'll be tipping his cap in Jiggas direction.

Lost all credibility? I'll bet you my mortgage right here and now that next years festival sells out within hours!

  8. Johan, thats exactly the type of ignorance that Noel showed. Glasto is a festival which celebrates all types of music not just generic rock. Just because you don't like something don't call it a stunt.

Saturday was pretty damn special in my opinion

  9. Noel was 100% right.

Hip hop is terrible and Jay Z was terrible.
Glasto has lost all credibility with this stunt, trying to act diverse in this age of political correctness.

I'm waiting for Senor Gallaghers response

(lol at Oasis sales increasing) Noel will be happy
