Steve Harris will have Xfm's first play of the brand new Snow Patrol single ‘Take Back The City’ tonight.

Snow Patrol are readying the release of their fifth album and Steve Harris will have the first play on Xfm of the band’s new single. ‘Take Back The City’ will be the first song to be taken from ‘A Hundred Million Suns’, which is set for release on October 13. The single precedes the album by two weeks. Gary Lightbody will also be on the show talking about the band’s new material.

The track-listing for ‘A Hundred Million Suns’ has also been revealed:

If There’s a Rocket Tie Me To It
Crack The Shutters Open
Take Back The City
Lifeboats
The Golden Floor
Please Just Take These Photos From my Hands
Set Down Your Glass
The Planets Bend Between Us
Engines
Disaster Button
The Lightning Strike
(i)What if This Storm Ends?
(ii)Sunlight Through The Flags
(iii)Daybreak

The Lightning Strike’ is a sixteen minute-long opus. Gary Lightbody, on the band’s website, described it thus:

“[It’s] by far the longest we’ve ever done. Don’t be frightened though, it’s great. Although for now you’ll have to take my word for that and I’m pretty biased I have to say”.

Listen to Steve Harris tonight from 7pm on 104.9 Xfm, DAB or right here, on-line. If you missed the song, we’ll have it right here for you tomorrow morning.
