Guns N'Roses To Tour In 2009?

Axl will mobilise the band in March next year, according to guitarist...

The hottest gossip to come from the rumour mill at the moment is the prospect of a Guns N'Roses tour for 2009. With most of the world's biggest acts - including Oasis, U2 and the reformed Blur - gearing up for a busy New Year, and with 'Chinese Democracy' upon us, a major jaunt around the world seems on the cards for Axl Rose. At least according to guitarist Richard Fortus, who currently plays rhythm guitar in the band.

Fortus made the startling comments in an otherwise local-interest only interview with Illinois newspaper The Telegraph, while talking about a one-off reunion of his old band Pale Devine. After claiming that the axeman would like to play in St Louis so his parents could see him, the scribe then added, "Late March should bring the GN'R tour, which likely will last at least two years."

Fortus also joked about the fact that the last time Axl played St Louis, there was a riot following a much-publicised flounce off stage. "There has been talk of us doing a Love tour," he laughed, "A tour of all the cities where there have been riots, and doing free shows. That might happen."

Are you excited about the prospect of a G N'R tour in 2009? Or will it just not be the same without Slash or Buckethead? Let us know what you think - leave a comment here.
