Gorillaz Duo To Release 'Monkey' Album

Gorillaz duo Jamie Hewlett and Damon Albarn are planning to release a new album based on their opera 'Monkey:Journey To The West' which opens at the Royal Opera House in
The opera is based on the ancient Chinese stories which featured Monkey, Trippitaka and Piggsy and were later turned into a cult TV show in the late 1970s. The opera, which is performed in Mandarin by European and Chinese performers, was premiered at the Manchester International Festival last year and continues at the Royal Opera House until the end of the week.
The album - which will be called Monkey - is due to come out later this summer.
