Glasvegas "Don't Want Xmas No. 1"

Glasgow's finest have confessed that they'd rather The X Factor winner take the all-important Xmas No. 1 spot than themselves. "Simon Cowell rules!" they cry...
Speaking at the launch for the Mencap Little Noise Sessions, guitarist Rab Allan and bass guitairst Paul Donoghue advised Xfm not to put any money on the band's upcoming Christmas mini-album, 'A Snowflake Fell (And It Felt Like A Kiss)', reaching the No. 1 spot, and that they'd prefer the eventual X Factor winner to pick up the prize.
Allan admitted: "I don't expect it, I don't want it. I want X Factor to win. Simon Cowell rules! You should do what I did and put money on everybody else. Then your definitely gonna get money back."
The six-track mini-album is released on December 1, and was recorded in Transylvania - yes, Transylvania - after Rab's younger brother and lead singer James' childhood obsession with Dracula, who calls the ancient Romanian land home.
"I think his mum used to dress him as Dracula with a black bin bag over his head. I think he was always quite curious to see what Transylvania was like... It was cold and beautiful. They had a McDonalds and KFC on the high street. Parts of it were quite picturesque, all the Hansel and Gretel houses."
By Ladbrokes' odds, the eventual X Factor winner is currently racing ahead at 1/10 to grab the Xmas No. 1, with Take That at 15/1 and Bob The Builder at 21/1. Glasvegas are, erm, not on the odds sheet.
