Glastonbury Tickets "Half Sold Out"

Sunday's pre-sale deemed a success by Glasto organisers, who have allowed festival-goers to put down a deposit for tickets...
Glastonbury tickets went on sale yesterday (Sunday October 6) and already over half of the allocation has sold out. "There was the inevitable bottleneck as everyone wanted to be first to get their tickets," said the organisers, "But people are now getting through thick and fast."
“It’s really exciting that people are still remembering one of the best Festivals we’ve ever held and are clearly already looking forward to the next one," said a clearly pleased Michael Eavis. "June saw the most diverse audience for 10 years or so, and hopefully this new fairer ticket system will mean that we have a great crowd again in 2009.”
Once this initial sale has ended, the rest of the tickets will be available, as usual, in April 2009.
