Franz Ferdinand Offer A Taste Of New Material

Franz Ferdinand last night (June 10) previewed a host of new songs from their highly anticpated and still in production new album when they played the cosy environs of a London pub in front of a sell out crowd of 150.
Hitting the stage just before midnight at East End boozer The MacBeth, Franz Ferdinand launched into 'Jacqueline' before treating fans to a slew of work-in-progress songs, many of which were trading under working titles.
The new songs saw Franz Ferdinand move into a more synth-led direction. 'Ulyssses' and 'What She Came For' found the band embracing a more dance-orientated sensibility while 'A New Thrill' and 'Kathryn Kiss Me' saw the band deploying their guitars to aggressive effect.
The set list was:
'Jacqueline'
'Send Him Away'
'Tell Her Tonight'
'A New Thrill'
'Kathryn Kiss Me'
'Dark Of The Matinee'
'Ulysses'
'What She Came For'
'Outsiders'
'Turn It On'
Franz Ferdinand will be playing the Latitude Festival on July 18 and the Connect Festival on Aug 29.
