Franz Ferdinand Name New Single

Franz Ferdinand emerged from an extended period of hybernation to speak exclusively to Xfm, naming the new single from their next album and explaining the African influences shaping it.
Talking at last night's NME Awards (February 28), the Glaswegian rockers revealed they are a third of the way through recording their new album and revealed that one track, 'What She Came For', is likely to be a single.
When asked what can be expected from their third record, vocalist Alex Kapranos said they have drawn inspiration and rhythms from the mid 60s soul scene and Ethiopian compilations:
"We're one of these bands that are always gonna sound the same no matter what we do, but there are other influences there. I guess the drums are a little different, Paul has been listening to a lot of African stuff so that's gonna come through."
Franz Ferdinand - who have previously won four NME Awards - are hoping to release the album "sometime this year" and are hoping to preview it at some festivals (which cannot be revealed as yet...Glastonbury?) over the summer.
