Franz Ferdinand Hail 'Druggy Vibe' In New Single

Guitarist/keyboardist Nick McCarthy informs Xfm that new single, 'Ulysses', is blessed with a "real, druggy vibe", following its first spin on The Steve Harris' Show last night...

The new Franz Ferdinand single, 'Ulysses', was handed its first play on The Steve Harris Show last night (November 18), of which after an exclusive chat with guitarist/keyboardist Nick McCarthy, we dicovered it's pronounced 'You-La-Seas'.

McCarthy too admitted he's happy to have dropped the guitar for synth on the new record, titled 'Tonight: Franz Ferdinand', all for the good of a "druggy vibe".

He said: "It's a good indtroduction to the rest of it. It's really bass-heavy and very danceable. I'm playing synth, not really guitar. You might hear that. It's got a really kind of druggy vibe to it, which I quite like."

"I'm less up for playing guitar. I played a little, but I wanted to get a real, dancefloory sound. Just bass-end, and with a guitar you can't really do that."
