Exclusive: Feeder Get Heavy

In an exclusive interview with Xfm and ahead of their All Day Breakfast gig, Feeder's Grant Nicholas and Mark Richardson have revealed that their new album, 'Silent Cry', is a return to the heavy roots that made their name.
"It's definitely heavier but it wasn't a conscious decision," said drummer Mark Richardson. "It's just the way the songs were written and after the last two records it wasn't a surprise when we heard the demos and the material was uplifting,
uptempo and heavier."
If Feeder's recent club tour was anything to go by, it's a move that's been met with the approval of fans. What's more, the tour proved to be an enervating experience for the trio.
Said Richardson: "It was brilliant. It was great to be back in the tiny places again. They weren't the smallest places we could find but the smallest stages we could fit our gear onto!"
Nodding in agreement, singer-guitarist Grant Nicholas added: "The tour was fantastic, I really enjoyed it."
Speaking of Feeder's upcoming ULU gig at the Xfm All Day Breakfast on June 21, Nicholas told fans to expect a wide and varied set: "We'll play something old and something new. It'll be similar to what we played on our club tour. It'll be a mixed bag."
In the meantime, Feeder release their new single, 'We Are The People', on June 8 while the new album, 'Silent Cry', appears one week later on June 16.
