Fall Out Boy Record Attempt Off

Despite the chartering of a special all-conditions Hercules transport plane, Fall Out Boy's record-breaking attempt at playing all the planet's continents in the shortest time has been thwarted by bad weather in Antarctica.
Having spent almost a week holed up in a Chilean hotel beseiged by screaming fans, the combination of extreme weather conditions and pressing domestic commitments meant that Fall Out Boy's hope of entering the Guinness Book Of Records was suddenly curtailed.
The band were told on Wednesday (March 26) that their chances of playing a research outpost in the South Pole were slim at best. By Thursday, with weather conditions refusing to relent and commitments scheduled for tomorrow (March 29), Fall Out Boy were forced to wave the white flag and prepare for the journey home.
Speaking to MTV, bassist Pete Wentz commented: “It's the worst feeling I've felt in Fall Out Boy.
“We had this idea, and then to not be able to fulfill it is just disappointing, especially when you put it out there. But what are you gonna do, wait until winter's over?”
