Exclusive: The Horrors Reveal Album Producer

Southend's Schlock-rockers The Horrors have exclusively spoken to Xfm about the highly unusual production choice for their second album, the follow-up to 2006's grimly fiendish, 'Strange House.'
Faris Rotter, The Horrors' lofty frontman, revealed that after the multi-producer helmed experience of their debut the band have placed video director Chris Cunningham in the knob-twiddler's chair.
Cunningham is best known for his highly idiosyncratic and frankly disturbing promos and includes credits for Aphex Twin and Bjork.
Speaking of the unusual choice, Rotter confirmed that The Horrors new album was the directors first stab at producing:
"He hasn't done music production before but I think it'll be really special. The results so far are really encouraging.
"The ideas that he has are really cinematic and there aren't really that many contemporary producers who have that kind of vision of their own and put that kind of stamp on something and I think he could be one of those."
Dismissing suggestions that Cunningham's production inexperience may prove detrimental, Rotter enthused:
"But that's what so brilliant about it - he won't approach things in the way that so many people will. He's really into the music we like: y'know - My Bloody Valentine, Dead Can Dance and Squarepusher and I think he's gonna bring something to the new album that no one else will."
The Horrors' second album is expected to appear when the shadows lengthen, storm clouds gather and the cold winds blow.
So that'll be the autumn, then.
