Exclusive: Razorlight's New Album & Charity Gig

In an exclusive interview with Xfm, Razorlight drummer Andy Burrows has revealed what fans can expect from the band's third album. Oh, and there's news of a very special and star-studded charity gig in London next week...
Talking of the new album, Burrows said that Razorlight were ready to go back to work: "We start recording in a week and we've been in pre-production for the last few months and I hope it's going to come out this autumn."
So what can fans expect? A radical departure in sound? Or a hitherto unknown passion for salsa? Explains Burrows: "It sounds pretty epic to me at the moment; it's mega - it just sounds big." [Listen]
And speaking of big, the Razorlight tubthumper has announced details of a very special gig at the Union Chapel in Islington next Wednesday (May 28) in aid of Naomi House Children's Hospice where he'll be joined by some very special guests.
He revealed: "Well, I've managed to persuade Jamie Oliver to come down and do a barbecue to try to add to the bizarre school fete theme and all the proceeds made from the hotdogs will go to the Naomi House Children's Hospice in Winchester.
"I've also asked Fyfe [Dangerfield] from The Guillemots...and I've also asked Mark Morriss from The Bluetones and my own, the band I play drums in [That's be Razorlight - Reading Between The Line Ed] who will hopefully turn up and do something, the idea being to end up with something like a miniature Razorlight gig.
"And I'm hoping that Muse drummer Dominic Howard will turn up and do something on my drumkit which I'm then auctioning off in aid of the charity." [Listen]
Andy Burrows' solo album, 'The Colour Of My Dreams', is out next week (May 26) on Vertigo.
