Exclusive: Kate Nash Reveals New Album Details

Kate Nash has spoken exclusively to Xfm about what fans can expect from her new album, the follow-up to to 2007's Xfm New Music Award-nominated 'Made Of Bricks'.
Arriving at yesterday's (May 22) Ivor Novello awards at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Kate Nash revealed that her new album is likely to feature a strong punk influence. Does this mean that hanging around with (her boyfriend Ryan Jarmann's band) The Cribs was rubbing off on her?
"Well, maybe," she replied, "I've always really liked punk music so I think it's something that I always
wanted to get more into."
Punk, however, isn't the only influence that'll be palpable on the new album. Nash also told Xfm that producer, musician
and one time-Feist, Peaches and James Lidell collaborator Gonzalez was on board.
She added: "I'm also really into stuff like The Supremes and Motown. I just want to get stuck in [to the studio]
and see what happens."
Just back from trying to crack the U.S., Nash also spoke enthusiastically of her American sojourn: "American audiences
were really supportive...everyone was really welcoming and I really enjoyed the shows. It was along and crazy time
and I really enjoyed it."

I hope the next songs will be on the album:
- I am not gonna teach your boyfriend how to dance with you
- navvy taxi
- model behaviour
- dont you wanna share the guilt
- fluoresece something (arctic monkeys)
especially the first song is one of her best ones (though it is a cover), it fits perfectly with her voice.
The only song i know which would be punk is model behaviour, funny song, but i don't see this as the strength of kate nash.
(see song list above),
I'd say be more influenced by Soko instead, than the cribs,
Roland from Holland

'THIS WOMAN CAN'T SING TO SAVE HER LIFE.
i dont even know why she made me big!
its because of people like paul epworth that made her. she is a joke.
WHO THE HELL SINGS ABOUT MOUTHWASH.
she is frigging ridiculous.'
you obviously dont know anything.
the lyrics point out that she is normal.
and that her new lifestyle doesn't change who she is. -

It's odd how Kate wished to separate herself from the producers and engineer's that made her first album a success, Gonzales is cool but none of the artists he has worked with have really 'broken' maybe Kate is too big for her boots and thinks she doesn't need a 'name' prodcuer like Epworth. Difficult second album in this case i think.

the only reason she was listenable is because she worked with paul epworth, if she doesn't work with him again, she is mad.
