No Free Music From Oasis

added 07 July 2008 at 12.59

Oasis lynchpin Noel Gallagher has said that he has no intention of copying Radiohead by giving the band's new album, 'Dig Out Your Soul' away for free when it comes out on October 6.

Speaking to the BBC, Gallagher said: “That’s not our bag. I didn’t spend a year in the most expensive studio in England, with the most expensive producer in America, and the most expensive graphic designer in London to then give it away. Fuck that.”

Noel also poured scorn on the policy that meant that fans paid as much or as little as they wanted for 'In Rainbows':

“To be honest, to me it looked like marketing. Y’know? A great way of getting a load of marketing for free really, but good for them. That’s what they do, they’re rebels and outsiders."

Oasis' seventh album, 'Dig Out Your Soul', is released on October 6 and preceeded by the single, 'The Shock Of The Lightning' on September 29.

  2. Ha! thats a laff. Osis haven't released anything good for so long that they would even be able to give their music away.
