Eels Frontman Launches Book With Special Gig

added 07 January 2008 at 16.03

Eels frontman Mark Oliver Everett - that's E to the rest of us - has announced details of a very special one-off performance to celebrate the launch of his new book.

Entitled 'Things The Grandchildren Should Know', the book is launched on January 17 and to mark the occasion, E will give a special one-off performance at St James Church in Piccadilly in the heart of London's glittering West End. And not too far from Xfm Towers either.

Everyone attending the gig will receive a copy of the book and the first 200 hundred people in line will get a wristband that will allow them to have their book autographed.

Ticket for the shows are on sale now and can be purchased from the Xfm Xchange on 0871 222 1049 or from the Xfm Online Ticket Shop by here.

And if that wasn't enough, Eels have also announced the release of not only their first Best Of... compilation, 'Meet The Eels: Essential Eels Vol 1 1996-2006' but also a rarities collection, the snappily-named 'Eels Useless Trinkets: B-Sides, Soundtracks, Rarities And Unreleased 1996-2006'. Both compilations are out on January 21.

Eels then return for a full UK tour in February and March calling at:

  • London Royal Festival Hall (February 25)
  • Birmingham Town Hall (26)
  • Manchester Bridgewater Hall (27)
  • Glasgow Royal Concert Hall (28)
  • Gateshead Sage (March 1)
  • Brighton Dome (2)

Some tickets are still available from the Xfm Xchange on 0871 222 1049 or from the Xfm Online Ticket Shop here.
